SEL Training and Support

In partnership with the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning (CASEL), and the Illinois Violence Prevention Authority (IVPA), The Illinois Children�s Mental Health Partnership (ICMHP) has developed a network of Professional Development providers across the state of Illinois. These individuals have experienced significant training and coaching in schools to develop and support school-wide social and emotional learning (SEL) implementation, as well as provide technical assistance and consultation to schools and school districts on various aspects of implementation.

Parent engagement is an important aspect of student success and effective SEL implementation. The ICMHP has also developed a group of family advocates who support schools and families in their efforts to create sustainable school/family partnerships to enhance the SEL implementation process. The state-wide cadre of professional development providers and family advocates, now referred to as SEL and Family Consultants, are available to support your school or school district�s efforts to implement social and emotional learning.
