Region 5
Coalition Partners
The Region 5 Family Leadership Partnership Team was developed by a group of parents and agency members from the Southern thirty three counties of Illinois. The common thread that brings these caring individuals together is to promote family leadership and empowerment to all parents and caregivers of children ages 0 -18 and those transitioning out of programs 19 – 21. The goals of the partnership team are to create parent / caregiver led community coalitions throughout the southern region offering support, resources, education and training to meet the needs of the parents and caregivers.

Family carnivals and fun night events are in the planning stages and will be held in the spring and fall to kick off the community coalitions. A parent manual is being created to assist in the navigation of the mental health system and a speakers/training bureau is being created utilizing the existing resources from the region. The partnership team meets the 4th Monday of each month in Mt. Vernon, IL to continue their mission and goals and to collaborate and share the existing resources for the families and caregivers of the Southern Region (View Region 5 Family Leadership Action Plan).
