ICMHP Youth Council

***Youth Council Application Forms are Now Closed! Please stay tuned for ICMHP Youth Council membership updates the week of October 2, 2023***

The ICMHP Youth Council was created in January 2023 thanks to the instrumental advocacy of Senator Simmons and the creation of SB4028. The youth council will convene youth members, Community-Based Organization (CBO) leaders and youth council partners across the State to elevate youth voice and inform state policy with the goal of improving youth mental well-being. ICMHP and Mikva Challenge are partnering together in facilitating youth-led discussions with the unique opportunity for youth to advocate on behalf of their peers and voice their opinions on how to improve youth mental health across Illinois.

The ICMHP Youth Council is looking for passionate youth council members ages 14 to 25. By participating, youth will receive $500 for their time with additional incentives such as education and career opportunities. Questions may be emailed to Julianna Mitrius, ICMHP Operations and Program Manager, at jmitrius@luriechildrens.org. Selected youth council members will participate virtually on the following (4) meeting dates:

  • Meeting 1: Tuesday, October 10th from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
  • Meeting 2: Tuesday, October 24th from 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
